# How trials work

Everything you need to know about ProductiveRecruit's free trial for individual athlete accounts: what's included, how billing works, and how to cancel.

Individual athlete accounts start with a free trial before you're asked to pay anything. It's the real product, not a stripped-down demo: you can build your profile, connect your email, and send actual outreach to see if it's worth it.

A card is required to start the trial, but you're not charged until it ends. Cancel anytime before then and you'll never be billed. If you don't cancel, the trial converts automatically into a paid Recruit Pro subscription.

Organization accounts work differently: there's no trial. [Book a demo](/demo) and we'll walk you through the product and get your account set up on the plan that fits your roster.

## Canceling or upgrading early

You don't have to wait for the trial to run out. From your Subscription page you can subscribe early to lift trial limits right away, or cancel to keep access through the end of the trial window without ever being charged. See [Billing](/docs/billing/billing) for how to manage your subscription.

If you let a trial lapse without subscribing, nothing is deleted — your account just moves to a more limited free tier until you upgrade.
