# Attachments

Learn how to attach files to your email templates and individual outreach emails, including file type limits and how attachments travel with campaigns.

You can attach files to your outreach emails (a season schedule, a stat sheet, a highlight reel PDF), but the rules depend on whether you're attaching to a template or to a single email. Here's how each works.

## Template attachments

Every [email template](/docs/email/templates-and-variables) can carry **one** attachment. Upload a file on the template's edit screen and it replaces any attachment that was already there — templates only ever hold the most recent upload.

- Allowed file types: PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP. SVG files aren't allowed, since they can carry embedded scripts.
- Max file size: 7MB.

When you send an email from a template (whether it's a single send or part of a [campaign](/docs/email/campaigns)), the attachment is copied onto that specific email at send time. That means editing or replacing the template's attachment later never changes what a coach already received.

## Attachments on a single email

When you're writing a one-off email (not sending from a saved template), you can attach up to **3 files** directly in the composer.

- Max size: 7MB per file, 21MB total across all three.
- No file type restriction — attach whatever format you need.

These attachments belong to that one email only. If you save the email as a draft, the attachments are saved with it.

## Campaigns

Campaigns don't have their own attachment step. Instead, whatever attachment is on the template you choose in [step 2 of the campaign wizard](/docs/email/campaigns) rides along automatically on every email the campaign sends, and you'll see it listed in the preview before you send.

## A quick comparison

| | Template attachment | Single-email attachment |
|---|---|---|
| How many | 1 (replaces the last one) | Up to 3 |
| File types | PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP | Any type |
| Max size | 7MB | 7MB each, 21MB total |
| Used by | Templates and any campaign built from them | That one email or draft |
