ProductiveRecruit May 2026 Product Update

Your Target List updates itself when you email a coach

We want your Target List to reflect reality with as little bookkeeping as possible. So this month we wired it up: the moment you send your first outreach email to a college program, that program automatically moves to Initial Contact Sent.

Two nice side effects:

  • If the program wasn't on your Target List yet, we add it for you — already marked Initial Contact Sent — so emailing a coach is enough to start tracking them.
  • No more remembering to move a program from Researching to Initial Contact Sent after you hit send. The status follows the action.

Less manual updating, and a pipeline that actually matches what you've done.

Lists are now Tags

If you missed it mid-month: your college Lists are now Tags, and you can apply up to 3 tags to any college. A single school can be a "Reach," a "Visit," and a "Top Choice" all at once, instead of being forced into one bucket.

We gave this one its own write-up — read the full post here.

A cleaner, full-width Emails and Colleges

We moved the sub-navigation on the Emails and Colleges sections from a left sidebar to a navigation bar across the top. Every sub-page now gets the full width of your screen — more room for your email list, your college search results, and your Target List.

Your live profile shows events in the right order

Your live profile is what college coaches actually see, so the Events section now leads with upcoming and current events (soonest first), followed by past events (most recent first). An in-progress multi-day event still counts as current.

We also fixed a clipping bug — if you had a long list of events, rows past a certain point were getting cut off. The section now scrolls cleanly with a sticky header, so coaches see everything.

Smaller improvements worth knowing about

  • Links auto-format in the email editor. Type or paste a URL — even a bare one like youtube.com — and it becomes a clickable link automatically. No more highlighting text and clicking the link button.
  • You can turn off the auto-added profile link. Outreach emails append a "View my full profile" link by default. If you'd rather leave it off, there's now a toggle on your Email setup page. (It stays on unless you change it.)
  • "What's New" in your sidebar. There's a new gift icon below Notifications that takes you straight to these product updates, so you never miss what shipped.

Coming soon: email a whole list of coaches at once

The big thing we've been building behind the scenes: Email Campaigns.

Right now, reaching out to twenty schools means twenty separate emails. Campaigns will let you:

  • Pick a list of coaches — filter by sport, division, conference, state, or your tags — and select the ones you want to email all at once.
  • Choose one of your templates. Every coach's email is still personalized with their name, their school, and your details.
  • Review and tweak each one before it goes out.
  • Send them on a natural, human-paced schedule — spaced out over time, not blasted all at once — so they land like personal emails, not a mass mailing.
  • Track engagement for the whole campaign on one page.

Coming soon: create personalized templates faster with AI

We're also putting the finishing touches on an AI template generator: tell it the purpose — initial outreach, a follow-up, or replying to a camp invite — and it drafts a personalized template from your profile that you can edit and save.

That's it for May. As always, reply if something looks off or you've got an idea for what we should build next.
