Picked the wrong sport at signup, or switched sports since? You can move a profile to a different sport yourself. It takes about ten seconds, works on any plan, and doesn't require a second profile or a support ticket.
Changing your sport
Open your profile editor and go to Overview, under About You in the sidebar. At the bottom of that page is a Sport card telling you which sport this profile is set to. Click Change sport, choose the new sport, and confirm.
If you have a second profile, its sport is left out of the picker, since two profiles for the same sport isn't a thing.
What changes, and what stays
Most of your profile is sport-agnostic and survives the switch untouched. Two things don't.
| Cleared | Kept |
|---|---|
| Your positions | Academics, videos, photos, links |
| Stats the new sport doesn't measure | Offers, events, and commitment |
| Bio, grad year, and profile photo | |
| Your target list and your sent email history |
Positions always clear. A position is a sport-specific word: "Goalkeeper" on a basketball profile is noise on your public profile and in every email variable that pulls from it. Set your new ones under Athletics.
Stats carry over only when the new sport measures them too. The general measurables overlap across sports — a Vertical Jump, a 5K, a Wingspan follows you to the new sport rather than making you dig up the number again. Anything specific to the old sport (Goals, Saves, Batting Average) is removed, because it has nowhere to go. Open Athletic profile & stats after the switch and fill in what's now empty.
Emails you've already sent are never rewritten. They stay in your history exactly as they went out, which is the point of a sent record.
Your profile link
Your link keeps working. Changing your sport does not change your link by default, the same way changing your name doesn't — that link is already in coaches' inboxes, on rosters, and in whatever QR code you printed.
The confirmation step offers a checkbox to update the link to match the new sport. Leave it off unless you've barely shared the profile yet. Turning it on rebuilds the link from your name and your new sport, and the old link stops working immediately — every coach who has it gets a dead page. A link that still says "soccer" is a much smaller problem than one that 404s.
If you do turn it on, treat it like a link change: send coaches the new one and update it in your email signature, social bios, and anywhere else it's posted.
Your target list
Your target list only shows schools for your current sport, so the programs you added before the switch drop out of view. Nothing is deleted — switch back to the old sport and they reappear — but they won't clutter the list you're building now. That's the right default, because coach contacts are per sport: those old programs point at coaches who don't recruit your new one.
After a sport change, a banner on your target list explains where those programs went. Dismiss it with Got it once you've read it.
Playing two sports?
Don't change your sport back and forth to cover both. That's not what this is for, and you'll lose your positions and half your stats every trip. Pro accounts support a second sport profile, each with its own stats, videos, and shareable link.
Which profile is "main"
If you have two profiles, one of them is your Main profile and the other is your Second — you'll see the badge in the sidebar next to the sport name. Main is what the app assumes you mean: email template variables fill in from it, and college search, your dashboard, and your tasks all default to its sport. If your emails are pulling positions or stats from the wrong sport, your main profile is set wrong.
To swap them, open the second profile and click Make this my main profile, at the bottom of the sidebar or on the Sport card on that profile's Overview. It takes effect immediately, and neither profile's link changes. See Adding a second sport profile for what else being main affects.
