Every organization account on ProductiveRecruit has a type. It's how the platform knows whether you're running a club, a high school program, or a recruiting agency. Your type isn't just a label: it changes what a few fields are called and how sports and teams work for your account.
The four types
| Type | What it's for | Sport selection | Name field label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Club | Single-sport club programs | Primary Sport (one sport) | Club Name |
| High School | High school athletic programs | Sport(s) (multi-select) | High School Name |
| Recruiting Agency | Independent recruiting services and consultants | Sport(s) (multi-select) | Agency Name |
| Club/High School | Combined multi-sport club + HS organizations | — | — |
Club, High School, and Recruiting Agency are the three standard types — we set the right one when we create your account after your demo call, and you confirm it during onboarding. Club/High School is a combined type used for a small number of existing accounts that run both a club and a high school program together; it's only ever set up by the ProductiveRecruit team.
Choosing your type
Your type is set from what you tell us on the demo call, and onboarding asks you to confirm it explicitly: a dropdown offers Club, High School, or Recruiting Agency. That choice sets your account's type and the type of your first space together. Most organizations only ever have one space, so this is effectively your organization's type going forward.
If you run a Club, sport selection is locked to a single Primary Sport, since clubs in ProductiveRecruit are single-sport by design. High Schools and Recruiting Agencies instead get a multi-select Sport(s) field, since one high school or agency commonly works across several sports at once.
What's different for Recruiting Agencies
Agencies work a little differently than Clubs and High Schools because they don't organize athletes into teams — a recruiting agency has clients, not rosters. Because of that, agency accounts skip the "Create your first team" step in onboarding and in the admin dashboard's getting-started checklist entirely.
Getting your account
New organization accounts are set up through a demo call. Book a time, tell us roughly how many athletes you'll bring on, and we'll walk you through the product and get your account on the plan that fits. Pricing is based on your roster size and we'll quote it on the call; see Choosing a plan for what's included. Bringing on 200+ athletes or need a custom rollout? Same call.
