Silence from a coach usually isn't personal. Most coaches get hundreds of these emails and reply on their own schedule, if at all. Before you write a coach off, check whether they've actually engaged with your email first.
Check your Gmail inbox, not ProductiveRecruit
Your outreach sends from your own connected Gmail account, so any reply a coach sends lands directly in that inbox, the same place a reply to any other email you send would go. ProductiveRecruit doesn't currently surface coach replies inside the app for most accounts, so if a coach did write back, it's sitting in Gmail waiting for you, not in your dashboard.
If you're not sure whether a coach opened or clicked into your email before deciding to follow up, check the opens and clicks history on that sent email. An open or click doesn't guarantee a reply is coming, but it tells you the coach at least saw your message — which changes how you should follow up. See Opens, clicks & views explained for what each signal means.
Rule out deliverability first
Before assuming a coach is ignoring you, rule out the simpler explanation: your email never reached their primary inbox. Spam-folder placement is a real and common reason for "no reply" that has nothing to do with the coach's interest. Review Email deliverability best practices to check your sending habits, and if opens themselves seem off, see Why isn't my email being tracked?.
What to do next
- No opens after a week or two: send a short, polite follow-up rather than assuming disinterest. Coaches miss emails constantly.
- Opens or clicks but no reply: the coach saw it and hasn't responded yet. A follow-up referencing something specific (a recent result, an upcoming camp) tends to work better than a repeat of your first message.
- Consistently no engagement across many coaches: that's a deliverability or messaging problem worth investigating, not a sign every coach is uninterested.
