Getting started for athletes & families

Your organization gives every athlete ProductiveRecruit. Here is what it is, how to create your account, and what to do in your first week.

Your club, school, or recruiting program has given every athlete access to ProductiveRecruit, the recruiting platform where you email college coaches yourself and see exactly who is interested. Your organization covers your access. Your job is to use it.

What it is

ProductiveRecruit gives you the tools to run your own recruiting: build a profile coaches actually read, search every college program in your sport, email coaches from your personal Gmail, and track who opens, clicks, and watches. Coaches want to hear from you, not a recruiting service. ProductiveRecruit makes sure that when you reach out, nothing gets lost and nothing gets missed.

One thing it is not: a placement service. Nobody emails coaches for you or promises roster spots. The outreach comes from you, which is exactly what coaches respond to. More on that in Does ProductiveRecruit contact coaches for me?

Create your account

Your organization sent a registration link and group code, usually in the announcement email or team group chat. Open the link, and your group code fills in automatically.

  • Already have a ProductiveRecruit account? Use the join with existing account option on the same page and enter your group code. Your account moves into your organization, nothing gets lost. See linking your account to your organization.
  • Can't find the link? Ask your coach or team manager, they have it ready to send.

Your first week

Four things, in order. Most athletes finish in an evening or two.

  1. Build your profile. Stats, academics, and your highlight video. This is the page every coach you email will open. Start with building your profile.
  2. Build your target list. Search programs by sport, division, and location, then tag schools as reach, target, and safety so your outreach has a shape. See building your target list.
  3. Connect your Gmail. Your emails come from you, from your real address. Coaches reply straight to your inbox. See connecting your Gmail account.
  4. Send your first email. Use your organization's shared templates or generate one with AI built only from your real profile. Then watch the tracking: opens, clicks, profile views, video plays. See sending a single email. When you're ready to reach more schools at once, run an email campaign: up to 50 personalized emails to coaches in one send.

For parents

You do not need your own login, this works through your athlete's account. Sit with them for the first session, especially the profile build. You can see everything they see, and their coaches and organization staff can see recruiting activity too, so nobody is guessing whether the work is happening. Your athlete's public profile is a link you can share with anyone, and your organization's website shows the athlete directory and commitments as they come.
